A. EDUCATIONAL COUNSELING & GUIDANCE CENTER
The students take educational courses without realizing their potential, abilities and skills. The students will be provided guidance, counseling on the basis of scientific investigation to choose programs of studies suited to their genius. The students take courses without realizing what vocation/occupation is best suited to them. Thus there is a mismatch between what they choose and what they are best equipped for. This center will help to minimize the mismatch and rush for disciplines that do not hold much promise for students' future.
B. LIBRARY FACILITIES
The central library was established in year 1977 at the time when this University was campus of Sindh University, Jamshoro. Library is providing reading and research material/facilities to the students' teachers and research fellows of the University. The library hall is Air Conditioned. Central Library has following sections at present:

2. Processing Section (Comprising Classification, Cataloguing, Labeling, and Filing the Catalogue Cards).

4. Reference Section
5. Book Bank Section (for students only)
6. Binding Section
Books
The library contains 45818 books including 1174 government publications.
JOURNALS/PERIODICALS
Central Library subscribes/receives free of cost 22 International Research Journals/Periodicals on Social and Natural Sciences and 62 local research journals/ periodicals for reference purpose.
BOOK BANK SECTION
There are 4273 copies of textbooks of 133 and 250 titles in science and arts respectively which are issued to the students on normal charges for one academic session.
GIFT OF BOOKS
In addition to above, the library also receives gifts from central and provincial governments and international organizations, such as Asia Foundation.
REFERENCE SECTION
With a view to help and raise research potential, we have stocked some material of reference works like encyclopedias, bibliographies, yearbooks, atlases, dictionaries etc.
NEWSPAPERS
Thirteen (13) daily newspapers in English, Urdu and Sindhi are subscribed for reference purpose.
LIBRARY TIMING
Library remains open for twelve hours from 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. on all working days without any break, for the benefit of students, teachers and research-fellows of University.
C. CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Seminar, quiz programs, debates, cultural shows and such other activities are arranged by the Student Advisory Committee. The students are facilitated to organize farewell and welcome parties in consultation with their Deans and Chairmen of the respective Departments. Magazines and souvenirs are regularly published by student societies, which are partially financed by the University. Intensive study tours and one day study trips are also organized for the students by the University every year. The office of the Student Advisor is there to guide the students in all their academic and extra-curricular activities.
D. SPORTS
Adequate facilities are available at the University for various games, such as Cricket, Foot Ball, Hockey, Volley Ball, Shooting Ball, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Badminton, Squash, Athletics, Kabbadi and Malh. Sports activities are organized under the auspices of the University Gymkhana Committee. Every year the students participate in various games organized by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, such as Inter-Varsity Tournaments arranged at various Universities of Pakistan. Annual Sports week is also organized by the Office of the Directorate of Physical Education, in consultation with Gymkhana Committee of the University.
E. MEDICAL
Consultation and Advisory health services are available for the students. A reasonably equipped dispensary and Pathological Laboratory are looked-after by two doctors and qualified staff at the campus. The complicated cases are referred to specialists in the District Hospitals. The ambulance service is also available.
F. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Full and Half Freeships in tuition fees, and Bursaries are granted each year to the deserving students as per following ratio:
- Freeships 10% of the enrolled students
- Bursaries 2.5% of the enrolled students
G. FEDERAL GOVT. SCHOLARSHIPS
Quaid-i-Azam Scholarship: - Every year the Ministry of Education, Govt. of Pakistan through the Higher Education Commission, awards one Quaid-i-Azam Scholarship for higher studies abroad. Students securing first and second positions in the University Examinations are eligible to compete for the scholarship.
Zila Council Scholarship: - The Zila Councils in the province of Sindh award a number of scholarships to the deserving University students on the basis of merit.
Mora Scholarship: - The Mora Scholarships are awarded by the Chairman Zakat Committee of Every District to the deserving students.
H. HOSTEL FACILITIES/STUDENTS ACCOMMODATION
There are five hostels, four for boys and one for girls; with total residential capacity for 458 students. The rooms are modestly furnished and the residents enjoy the facilities of Dining Hall, Cafeteria, TV Lounge, Reading Room, Mosque, Telephone, etc. The services of a part-time Medical Officer are also available to the residents. Each Hostel is looked-after by a resident Warden, who is a teacher of the University. All wardens work under the supervision of the Provost Hostels. The students, who wish to reside in the hostels, may apply as per Shah Abdul Latif University, Hostel Regulations 1987.

7. Govt. Girls Women College Hostel 08 Rooms 24 Students. The students, who wish to get hostel accommodation, can apply on the prescribed form available in the office of the Provost (Hostels). The hostel accommodation is allotted purely on merit basis by the Hostel Accommodation Allotment Committee, as per Shah Abdul Latif University, Hostel Regulations, 1987.
DISCIPLINE
All rules and regulations regarding discipline of students formulated and reviewed by the University from time to time in accordance with Shah Abdul Latif University Act, 1986 which applies to all the students of Shah Abdul Latif University and if any student, who fails to abide by these regulations or is guilty of misconduct, he/she is liable to appropriate action as laid down in these regulations.
